The Best Materials Make the Best Custom Cushions
United Upholstery will recommend the right fabric, vinyl, or leather for your cushions. Fabric should be comfortable, durable, and attractive (fabric should also reflect your personality!), and from many thousands of consultations, we have fabric selection down to a science. Velvet, chenille, linen, wool, cotton, top-grain, performance, and natural – we carry every type of fabric.
Foam is not something that you see, but it’s so important! It ranges from very soft, soft, medium, medium-firm, firm, to very-firm, and like fabric, foam should reflect your needs. Some foam is better-suited for dining areas, where other foam is more appropriate for lounging and reclining. There is a proper foam for backrests, and a proper foam for seats, and a correct thickness for each!

Window Seat Cushions and Kitchen Nook Cushions
Window seats have been around for hundreds of years and are still growing in popularity. We can help you complete the look of your kitchen, play room, living room, or bedroom with a custom window seat cushion. Relax on some springy foam covered in a soft fabric – a cushion made by United Upholstery!
We can add details like welting, piping, buttons, or even diamond tufting, and a zipper for easy access is standard. We cut, sew, and finish the cushions by hand and with love!

We make custom chair cushions and chair pads to be as versatile as possible. We often make them reversible, doubling their durability. We install zippers on the back of our cushions for easy access to the foam, and washing if necessary. We can replace the covers on your existing cushions, for backrest cushions and chair seat cushions, or make something totally new. All of our cushions are created in the the Greater Vancouver Area – made in Canada!
Mid-Century furniture lends itself to minimalism, clean lines, and functional and sophisticated colour palettes. We recover cushions for sofas and chairs made in Denmark and Finland, home to the leading designers of the movement.
The fabric of sofas and loveseats often wear out too early, and United Upholstery can recover cushions and cushion covers to complement the existing upholstery and design.
